In the alleys adjoining the port of Chora, locals and tourists alike chatter noisily at the tables of cafés, enlivened by the surrounding euphoria. They know that festivities will continue until dawn. A few kilometres away, the contrast is striking. A warm breeze crosses the plain, a lascivious moan breaking the silence to stir a few thorny bushes before fading away in the darkness. A moonbeam reveals fragments of a desert landscape, arid and impassive: the other face of Mykonos, an old island in the Cyclades emerging off Piraeus. A rocky land abandoned to the scorching sun, where olive trees and dry grasses grow erratically; at the edge of rocky paths stand a windmill, a pigeon house or a church. These dreamlike panoramas are contained by azure waves imprisoned by peaceful cycles; gentle undulations of crystal-clear waters in coves or on golden beaches. A slow perpetual movement that since antiquity has unfurled on Elia, a stretch of fine sand barely 300 metres away from Villa Aéropos. A handful of minutes separate it from this majestic residence perching on the coast, facing the open sea. A few lush lawns mark the estate, where a large swimming pool is lined up opposite an outdoor living room and dining room. Set up on a terrace, they are sheltered by a wood-and-bamboo canopy, before a succession of tall bay windows that open up to the living room. Like the whole residence, this living room is largely influenced by Cycladic tradition: immaculate walls, white ceiling beams and parquet flooring form a sober and harmonious décor featuring elegant handcrafted furniture in natural materials. The clear, uncluttered organization of the living room recurs in the four 24 m2 bedrooms: four superb suites, two of which have their own bathroom, and some offering access to the patio. Outside, everything is perfectly calm. The sound of backwash echoes on granite rocks. It’s difficult to imagine the joyful electric atmosphere that takes over in the evening in a few small villages just a little way off.

Booking conditions

Booking with Le Collectionist is both simple and bespoke. Choose a property from our collection, book online or speak to one of our advisors for more details. Once the property is selected and availability is confirmed with the owner, you confirm the booking and its terms.

A deposit secures your booking, then our concierge service takes over to arrange all necessary services and make your stay unique.

In order to confirm your booking, you will need to pay a deposit up to 3 business days after signing your contract.

You will then have until two months before the start of your rental period to pay the remaining balance.

Before your arrival, you will be asked to pay a deposit to cover any damage. The amount will be specified in your rental contract and can be requested from your advisor before booking. This deposit will be used to cover the cost of replacement or repairs, upon presentation of evidence provided by the owner. No amount will be withheld without a thorough inspection.

Check-in at the property is set at 5 pm and check-out at 10 am. Early check-in or late check-out may be possible depending on availability of the property and approval from the owners. These options are not automatically included and must be requested in advance from your advisor.

You may cancel your contract subject to the following fees:

  • Up to 60 days before your arrival: 50% of the total rental amount
  • Between 59 days and the check-in day: 100% of the total rental amount
