The luxury of holidays in Marrakech

A change of scenery at the gates of Europe would be the best way to characterize a stay in Marrakech. Between the desert and the old town, follow our luxury concierge in Marrakech to take you through the footsteps of Laurence of Arabia and The Rolling Stones. Experience a world that perfectly fuses luxury with authenticity. A trip to Marrakech is an immersion into a rainbow of scents and colors, from the souk stalls, the tannery districts, fabrics, and spices...In an instant, go from the whirlwind of the old town to the placid courtyard of a luxury riad or one of Marrakech's luxury hammams. The city is also an invitation to discover the marvels of entirely preserved architecture. The historic sites of the Majorelle Garden and the Kutubiyya Mosque rub shoulders with the innovation of contemporary architecture such as the new Yves Saint-Laurent museum.

With so many things to do in Marrakech, you never get bored making it an ideal destination for a family holiday. Leaving the city, you'll soon find yourself in the middle of the desert, or en route to the Atlas Mountains and the Berber villages. Returning in the evening, head to Jemaa el Fna to settle into the ebullience of the city at night. Discover the best restaurants in Marrakech boasting an explosive combination of traditional cuisine and the unbridled creativity of the new generation. Upon returning back home, finish the day on the rooftop of the riad while sipping mint tea in front of a stunning view.

When to leave

The best time to visit Marrakech is in Spring, between mid-March and May when the roses are in bloom and the sun is high. Another good time for strolling the city streets is in Autumn, between September and November when the temperature is mild and spring-like.

It is best to avoid the summer months when it can get as hot as 45 degrees (Celsius). It is also worth remembering that a large number of restaurants are closed during the month of Ramadan.

How to get there

There are many flights to Marrakech from all the big European cities. Marrakech-Menara airport has recently undergone major work. After arriving, the best way to travel around the Medina is on foot.

To get to the modern districts outside of the city walls, such as Le Guéliz and L’Hivernage, or the Agafay desert, simply hail one of the many taxis roaming the city.
