The château stands in the middle of a vast natural space, and offers ravishing views of nearby slopes in ochre and pink tones. The 2-hectare garden around it even hides a small pond where you can go for a boat ride and yield to the romance of this place, bearing in mind the poems of Lamartine who once sang the beauties of this region. An outdoor swimming pool is also tucked away in a rose garden.
The building is made up of a large residence reconstructed in the 19th century in Renaissance style, accompanied by several farm outbuildings, small apartments, and a charming pigeon house whose style underlines the authenticity of the place. Covering 800 m² and spread over 4 floors, the main residence is decorated as one would expect a refined family home to be: the rooms are covered in Renaissance frescoes, Michelangelo or Raphael reproductions, complemented by a few paintings and classic engravings. The ground floor holds a dining room that can gather 14 guests while a loggia leads to an adjoining billiard room. Thanks to fireplaces and woodwork, the living spaces create a comfortable atmosphere.
The two suites on the first floor as well as the nine bedrooms and four bathrooms spread out over three levels also reflect this intimate baroque atmosphere.
Between old-world charm and bucolic reveries, Château Rosebois is the perfect place for resting and appreciating the charms of Burgundy.
